Butte College has announced students can apply now for Winter Session, January 3-21, and Spring Semester, January 24-May 27.
Butte College continues to offer business classes in Oroville at the Butte County Office of Education, 2152 Robinson Street. The college also offers classes in Career Development and Workforce Readiness Strategies at the Oroville Community Employment Center (OCEC), 78 Table Mountain Blvd. To assist currently registered Butte College students this semester, a free “drop in” computer lab class is available on Wednesdays, from 6-8:50 p.m., at 2152 Robinson Street. Those interested in earning one credit, now through the end of the current semester, may also choose to do so by meeting with the instructor.
The following Butte College classes were offered in Oroville this fall semester: Intro to Accounting; Beginning/Refresher Keyboard; Keyboard Speed/Accuracy; Microsoft Word; Career Development; Workforce Readiness Strategies; On Course for Student Success; English as a Second Language (ESL) Workforce Training; ESL Workforce Lab; and Gentle Aerobics.
Butte College has also started its third class of students in the Green Building Certificate Program offering Introduction to Green Building Classes and Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Systems. Classes started October 12 and are held at the Clean Tech Center at the Oroville Airport. The Green Building Certificate Program describes the green building process and provides a greater understanding of energy efficiency and conservation for residential and commercial applications. The certificate program is offered in partnership with the Private Industry Council and Butte College Training Place, 895-9015.
