The Butte College Nursing Graduation and Pinning Ceremony for the Spring 2008 semester will honor 40 graduates of the Allied Health Nursing Department.
Of the 40 graduates, 16 were practicing licensed vocational nurses participating in the Nursing Department's Step-Up Program which allows students to earn their associate degrees in nursing. Twenty-four of the graduates have completed the Allied Health Nursing Department's two-year degree program to receive their associate degrees and become registered nurses and nearly one-third of these graduates already have jobs in local hospitals, according to Denise Adams, Director of the Allied Health Department.
"I am incredibly proud of these stellar students, this program along with our faculty and staff. Our graduates are going to make wonderful nurses, amazing patient advocates and incredible representatives for Butte College out in the community," said Adams. "I trust them implicitly and I would trust them, literally, with my own life."
The graduation ceremony will be held December 18 at 4 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 13539 Garner Rd., Chico.
