The CAD and Drafting Technology department offers students an opportunity to certify in the software applications in use today in the industry. Certification as a “Certified Associate” offers the student or professional a recognized method to test their skills under timed and controlled conditions the outcome of which produces an industry-recognized certification directly from Autodesk or from Solid Works. Butte College offers students an opportunity to extend their learning beyond the college courses by way of our campus club – Butte College Association of CAD and Modeling (Butte ACM). The club regularly connects with local firms and industries to bring professionals to the school for presentations, field trips and offers students a chance to build their professional community through their web community. Students also participate in design competitions, offer services to assist local businesses with drafting, plotting and 3D printing.
