Health Care Scholarships
NURSING AND HEALTH CARE MAJORS:
The Health Professions Education Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Youth Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention-Leadership Recognition Program.
Target:
Youth between the ages of 16 - 24 who have demonstrated leadership in pregnancy prevention. Peer counselors, peer educators, and/or peer providers.
Amount:
Each scholarship is $25,000 (paid over a 5 year period at $5,000 per year). $250,000 in total funding is available. This will fund 10 scholarships.
Purpose:
Provide financial incentive to encourage youth to continue on and pursue a career in the health professions.
Requirements:
Youth must apply the scholarship funding to a health professional education. After graduation, practice their profession in a medically under served area of California.
Deadline:
Applications must be received by the first week of November (see website for exact dates).
