Music

Butte College offers a wide range of music courses for you to pursue.

They include:

• Appreciation/History Courses
  • We have 5 courses in this category.
• Music Theory Courses
  • We presently have two courses in this category; however, after program review is done we should have more offerings, which will bring us into alignment with most other schools' music programs.
• Applied Music Courses
  • We offer at present only beginner level courses in voice, piano, and guitar, though intermediate and advanced level courses are in the catalog and can be offered as student demand warrants. Beginning level courses can be repeated one time, except for voice, which can be repeated 3 times.
• Recording Arts
  • These courses together form the core of BC's recording arts certificate program, under the direction of Dave Elke. All courses are repeatable once.
