Bilateral Mammogram Screening Program
The BSSP provides a free mammogram screening for members and dependents based on the following mammogram screening guidelines:
| Age | Screening Guidelines |
|---|---|
| 35-40 | One baseline mammogram |
| 40-49 | Mammogram every 1 or 2 years depending on the baseline and/or the patient’s medical history |
| 50+ | Mammogram yearly |
This is a screening. If you are following up on previous abnormalities you will use the Blue Cross insurance as your doctor may want more X-rays.
The two locations that are available for the mammogram screening are:
- North State Imaging
- Oroville Hospital
You will need to get an authorization for those providers to bill BSSP and not Blue Cross for the mammogram. Call 532-5838 for a mammogram authorization or e-mail cramirez@bcoe.org
