Applying for the Welding Technology Program

 The Welding Technology Program is a two-semester program and accepts 50 students beginning each Fall Semester. Because the program is impacted, interested students must complete a Welding Technology application to be placed on the waitlist. There are prerequisites to the program that must be completed before you can be accepted. Prerequisites are listed in Things for You to Know and Things You Need to Do and on the Welding Technology application.

Follow the steps below to get on the waitlist.

1. All applicants must have a Butte College ID number. If you do not have one, Apply Now.
2. Read Things for You to Know and Things You Need to Do.
3. Once you have a Butte College ID number, complete and return the Welding Technology application.
4. All applicants must have a 45-minute face-to-face meeting with Don Robinson, Welding Department Chair. Call 530.895.2551 or stop by AHPS 251 to schedule an appointment.
5. Complete the Butte College Assessment if placement levels have not been established.
6. Complete Butte College Orientation.
