Donna earned a B.A. in Elementary Education/Child Development from Tufts University, an M.S. in Educational Leadership/Infant and Toddler Behavior and Development from Wheelock College and an MBA (with emphasis on Marketing) from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management
During her years of service at Butte College, Donna served as General Business Program coordinator for approximately 10 years and as Staff Development coordinator for 3 years. She served on the Academic Senate for several years (including one year as secretary) and organized and facilitated many "Great Teachers" and All-Campus retreats. Donna was a member of the inaugural class of Leadership Butte and (in 2002) co-chaired the Accreditation self-study committee reviewing our Instructional and Student Services programs. Donna served on numerous hiring committees (for both faculty and staff), and on strategic planning, educational master planning, campus climate, staff development and policy/procedure-drafting committees.
Donna is interested in working with non-profit organizations, particularly those relating to health and wellness. At present, she is a strategic advisor for the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation (CARF). Donna has worked with CARF for approximately 5 years and have collaborated with others throughout the country to organize and facilitate patient conferences, create a marketing plan, host a Beverly Hills fundraiser and draft solicitation appeals. Donna has created CARF's inaugural newsletter and am now in the process of creating a comprehensive database. Donna has been invited to be a "keynote" speaker and break-out session facilitator at CARF's 3rd Patient Conference, to be held in Washington, DC in September 2008.
In addition, Donna has been working with a local physician who is expanding his practice in functional medicine and opening a medical spa. To-date, she have created an extensive patient resource manual and updated other program materials. Donna looks forward to an ongoing collaboration with this physician -- and to further consulting with other individuals and organizations in the medical field.

Jill is the Administrative Assistant for Business Education, Business Computer Information Systems, the Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa. She joined the Department in 2010 after serving Performing Arts and Humanities for 8 years. Jill earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from CSU, Fullerton and prior to Butte College, worked as an accounts payable supervisor for a property management firm in Southern California. When not working, Jill enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

Patrick holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Utah where he graduated magna cum laude and as a Dean's Scholar. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to joining Butte College, Patrick worked as a financial advisor and as controller of a small international business. Patrick’s been quoted in Financial Advisor magazine, Physician's Personal Advisory, Detroit Free Press, Journal of Financial Planning, and on Bloomberg.com. He has written for the Journal of Financial Planning, NAPFA Advisor, and Catalyst Magazine. For fun Patrick enjoys debits and credits and spending time with his family.

Karen holds a BS in Accounting and MBA from CSU, Chico. Karen started teaching at Butte in 1998 full time and previously taught part-time for 3 years. Karen has taught all accounting related courses including: Introduction to Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, QuickBooks Pro, Income Tax Preparation and Accounting for Payroll. Other areas of interest include serving on theButte College Education Association as a negotiator, serving as the Advisor of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). Karen is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA); California, Society of Public Accounts; and Institute of Management Accountants. In here spare time Karen enjoys her cats, swimming, hiking and spending time at the ocean.
LaRee Hartman, Accounting Instructor

LaRee Hartman is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). She worked full-time while attending college and as an alumni, she holds an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting from Butte College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from CSU Chico. While attending school, she worked in healthcare as a Staff Accountant for National Medical Enterprises, moved onto become an Assistant Controller at Chico Community Hospital, then Controller at Glenn General Hospital, CFO for Chico Medical Group, and the Administrator of Home HealthCare Management, Inc. Switching industries from healthcare, Ms. Hartman became the Sr. Accountant at Tri Counties Bank for a few years and then moved away from Chico to the Bay Area where she worked for a fortune 500 company, Applied Materials. Upon returning, Ms. Hartman began her teaching career, and has been at Butte College since 2001.
As an instructor, Ms. Hartman teaches Introduction to Accounting (Acct 20), Financial Accounting (Acct 2), Managerial Accounting (Acct 4) and Intermediate Accounting (Acct 25). She is a member of the Academic Senate and currently serves as Chair of the Business Education department. In 2005-2006, Ms. Hartman was recognized by her peers and awarded the "What Would We Do Without You Award" and the following year was selected as one of the Outstanding Faculty of the Year.
She is a member of the Chico Community Ballet Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Northern California Harp Ring. Ms. Hartman enjoys playing the harp, gardening roses and riding her Morgan horses.

Steve Price has a Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Chico State and a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of San Francisco. Mr. Price was a computer-based training developer with Boeing and AT&T working on projects for the F-15 Eagle aircraft, high-speed Internet services and other technical topics. After earning a Master’s Degree in Economics, Mr. Price worked as an Economist for the U.S. Department of Labor. There he developed and conducted quantitative studies to monitor wholesale-level inflation as well as import and export price level changes. Later, he was employed by the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Service Officer with an emphasis in Economic Affairs. He served overseas in Amsterdam, Holland. He has taught Economics for Butte College, Chico State and Yuba College. Mr. Price is the advisor to the Butte Investment Club.

Andy earned his masters degree from the University of San Francisco and his B.S. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Andy served as a practicing economist for eight years. Upon graduating from college, he assumed progressively challenging promotions to cities in California and Massachusetts. As the Assistant Director of Community and Economic Development, Andy was responsible for preparing redevelopment plans, grant writing, media relations, coordination and compliance with state and federal agencies. Andy has earned nationally competitive academic fellowships to study and conduct research in Germany and Japan, including the recent award of a Fulbright. Andy also completed an academic fellowship at Amherst College, which was awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Andy has also taught Economics at Chico State. Andy serves as the faculty advisor to SIFE and also serves on the Master Plan, Technology and Land Use Planning Committees at Butte College.
