The Mechanized Agriculture program offers students an option to earn either a one-year Certificate of Achievement or an Associate Degree. An exciting, hands-on approach introduces students to a wide range of mechanical skills, such as dealing with the operation, maintenance and repair of small to midsize gasoline, diesel and electrically-operated equipment. In addition, emphasizing safe, cooperative work habits while problem solving is encouraged. Success in this program will be enhanced by high school work in shop and basic skills classes.
Wherever power equipment is operated, maintained, or repaired, there exists a need for well-trained employees. Production agriculture and its equipment suppliers, the rental industry, landscape business, recreation and construction industries are just a few employment possibilities. Upon completion of the Associate Degree, students may transfer to one of several California state universities which offer a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanized Agriculture.
