David Davis
Head Volleyball Coach
David Davis has joined our 2011 coaching staff concluding his eighth season as the head coach for Pleasant Valley High School. In eight seasons the Vikings made the playoffs 7 of 8 years, have won 7 NSCIF section championships, and 4 EAL Championships. Over this time span the Vikings accumulated a 92-19 league record and an overall winning percentage of .725. Prior to coaching at Pleasant Valley, Dave was the varsity volleyball coach at Hamilton High School. In the four years that Dave was leading the program they made the playoffs every season and earned an MVL Championship in 2002. Dave was also named MVL Coach of the Year for 2000 and 2002 seasons, and Northern Section Coach of the Year in 2007. Coach Davis has an overall high school record of 333-118 in his twelve years of coaching.
Dave has also spent the last fifteen years coaching club volleyball and volleyball camps throughout the state. He has coached club teams for Club Chico, Arrowhead Volleyball Club, and Shasta Creation. Dave has also run the North Valley Volleyball Camp, PV Team Camp, Thunder Volleyball Camps, Gold Medal Squared Volleyball Camps, and has been a camp coordinator and coach for the Marv Dunphy Pepperdine Volleyball Camp for the last eleven years.
Personal
Coach Davis has been married for 11 years to his wife Cateena and they have two children, Mallory (7) and Blaine (3).

Kayla Wilson
Assistant Volleyball Coach
Kayla Wilson is returning to Butte College Volleyball for her second year as an assistant coach. Previously, Kayla played for the Road Runners helping Butte to a Golden Valley Conference Championship in 2009. She earned the GVC All Conference award both years of her college career. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 2006 and attended Butte to receive her AA degree. She is currently attending Chico State to attain her Bachelor’s Degree.
Kayla was a three year MVP award recipient for her high school volleyball team, was the Female Student Athlete of the Year in 2005 and 2006, and was nominated for the Colusa County Athletics Hall of Fame. She also played in the Volleyball All Star Game which is held at Butte College annually. Kayla has been coaching at volleyball camps since 2007, and she has spent the past three years coaching for Club Chico. She recently accepted the coaching job for the Chico State Club Volleyball team where her team qualified for nationals.
