The Butte-Glenn Community College District (District) is committed to providing full access to its programs and facilities to all students. As part of that commitment, the District will provide a bus transportation system that is available and accessible from the communities it serves to the main campus. All currently enrolled students are eligible to use the bus transportation system.
The service area for the system, its hours of operation, and the locations for each bus stop will be printed in the District's schedule of classes each semester. The notification will include a statement that the buses operated by the District are accessible to individuals using wheelchairs or who have a physical disability.
Each bus used as part of the bus transportation system will accommodate non-disabled passengers, as well as individuals with disabilities, on a space available basis. Priority/reserved seating for ambulatory, but disabled individuals, will be reserved in the front of the bus. Individuals who use a wheelchair will be provided space and appropriate tie-down equipment. Bus drivers will receive regular customer service training and specific instruction on disability etiquette and wheelchair safety procedures. For information on providing transportation to disabled students, please call Disabled Students Services office at (530) 895-2455 or check out their website by clicking here.
To protect you and limit the liability, appropriate permission is required before you may drive a District vehicle. The steps you must take to gain this authorization is available from Facilities Planning & Management. Please complete the Driver's Clearance Form by clicking here and submit it to Facilities Planning & Management. The District's policy and procedure on transportation in District owned vehicles is available by clicking here for the policy 4.48 and by clicking here for the procedure 4.48 . For more information, please call our office at (530) 895-2352.
CLASS/ATHLETIC FIELD TRIPS: Any one wanting to use a District vehicle for class or athletic field trips must submit a Student Travel Request Form fifteen (15) working days in advance of the date requested. Forms are available in the Facilities department. You will need the budget classification to complete the form and all required signatures must be present before Facilities will process it. For more information, call Transportation at (530) 895-2352.
Our purpose in Facilities is to "create a positive and safe physical environment that ensures student and staff success." We cherish your feedback and always want to know what we can do to support you better. We've recently established an automated comment card system. We call it the Administration Customer Evaluation System (ACES) and it is available by clicking here . The purpose of this system is to collect your feedback and use this information to support you better. Please use ACES to tell us if we're doing something good that should be sustained or something not so good that we need to improve.
