There is nothing Johnny Yang can't do! He works for Shipping and Receiving, Mail Services, and Printing Services. His positive, confident, and helpful attitude has touched all areas of the campus. Johnny is a quick learner, likes a challenge, has a great work ethic, and never complains – an excellent combination. In addition to his work assignment, Johnny has served on many campus committees and helps out at campus special events. He also serves as a translator for Hmong students, and has even been known to pick up a rattlesnake of two at the Child Development Center . Johnny Yang is our definition of an excellent Public Service Professional.

Magian Smith is described as a supportive team player. He is thoughtful, professional, collaborative, creative, resourceful, and committed to getting the job done. He has helped coordinate Think Pink Days, participated in Family Day, and helped coordinate the Community Resource Fair for Make a Difference Day. Magian successfully balances his time between Service Leaning/Volunteerism and the Foster Kinship Care Program. Students compliment him for his support, friendliness, and positive attitude and faculty members appreciate his strong work ethic. As Classified Senate president, he has represented the college at leadership institutes and conventions, and presented a successful leadership workshop at Lake Tahoe last summer. Magian Smith is a sincere and honest representation of Butte College excellence.

Christie Boggs not only has a “can do” attitude, she has a “can do a lot” attitude. She is described as capable, organized, and efficient. But what we all also know is that she has a heart for Butte College and has a smile for each and every person she sees. Christie possesses a wealth of knowledge and is always available and willing to share that knowledge with others. Consequently, she serves on many campus committees and is the first name that comes up when information is needed. Christie takes pride in her work and in Butte College – she is our trademark of excellence.

Aaron Thomas is one of those employees none of us can live without—he works as a Network and Computing Specialist. Because of Aaron's innovations, faculty can securely enter grades online and students can use credit cards to pay for classes. His effort for Butte College 's wireless networks has not only provided crucial technology, but he has saved the district thousands of dollars in wireless and design costs. Aaron is the lead support to the many new systems in the LRC building, and has received kudos from faculty and staff for his professionalism and customer service. Thanks to Aaron for an excellent job!

Tom Wallis brought technology to the Butte College Automotive Program - he computerized our budgets, made our classrooms “smart,” set up electronic car service manuals for the Automotive Program, and designed slick promotional flyers and a calendar for the Motorsports Program he helped bring to life. Tom contributed to the design of the proposed new training facility, and facilitated Honda's donation of $40,000 worth of lifts to the new auto labs. Tom is a consummate team player, problem solver, and gentleman – and is now retired from Butte College . His many excellent talents will be missed, but never forgotten.
