Welcome to the Butte-Glenn Community College Academic Senate Web Page. Your Academic Senate has been legally established as the official faculty representative to the Board and Administration in the participatory governance process at Butte College. In addition Assembly Bill 1725 and Title 5 of the California State Education Code, as well as Butte College Board Policy 1.16, delegate to the Senate the responsibility to develop and formulate policy regarding "academic and professional matters" by "collaborating collegially" with the Board and Administration. We approach this responsibility with great seriousness, and we're humbled by the trust that you have placed in us. On this Web Page you will find useful information that will keep you informed about the activities of the Academic Senate and will allow you to communicate with your Senator. Look for the Senate Constitution and By-laws, Senate agendas and minutes of our meetings, a calendar of events listing our meeting schedule and other important Senate doings, and links to the State Academic Senate Web site. We hope that you will find our spot on the World Wide Web to be a practical medium to communicate what we are doing together to more effectively serve our students and our community.
