During the
summer of 2004, my daughter and I were living in a tent along the Feather River. The Butte College Foundation
provided the scholarship I needed to turn my life around. I was determined to complete my education — and earned all A’s during my last two semesters at Butte College.
Today I am a Political Science major at California State University, Chico where I have been selected to participate in a prestigious congressional internship in Washington D.C. with a California member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
I can’t say enough about how much the scholarship from
Butte College helped me stay afloat while I pursued my education. I needed someone to believe in me and with your help, I was able to complete my degree.

My father is a paraplegic, disabled from the chest down. It would have been impossible for me to attend Butte College without receiving a scholarship. My goal in life is to become an auto mechanic and someday own an auto
repair shop. Thanks to the Butte College
Foundation, I am able to pursue my future.

I am attending Butte College to study cosmetology. Once I receive my license, I will be able to work part-time as a stylist while I attend Butte’s nursing program to become a nurse practitioner. Receiving my scholarship through the Butte College Foundation is the first step in obtaining my life goals. |

Now that my children are grown, I am ready to attend college. I would like to be a high school or college science teacher. My husband is disabled, so receiving a scholarship through the Butte College Foundation is a big financial help, which allows me to concentrate on my studies and continue my education. |
